‘Our why’ is a letter series written by members of our team, it illustrates our journey at Generation Entrepreneur, and our hopes for the future.
We hope it provides insights into why we do what we do, and why we care.
So here’s my story —
I’ve always been interested in Business. In year 6, I sold found tennis balls to kids at school and started my first “business” although the teachers weren’t too fond of it.
Fast forward to Year 10.
Victor and Alex are hosting something they call “Generation Entrepreneur”. They ask me if I want to be a part of it? I say yes.
It’s been life-changing from then on. I’ve moved past many roles, from part of the original team with no designated role to Operations director. In this capacity, I would say the single biggest thing I’ve gained is a mindset change.
No longer do things seem impossible. Everything is just a combination of hard work, a bit of out of the box thinking and a touch of luck. I see this change in everyone who goes through Gen-E’s program as well and I wholeheartedly believe that this is what the Australian youth so crucially need.

Hi there,
Imagine a young, shy girl about to begin her final year of high school. She was nervous, lacked confidence and was not particularly sure of which path she wanted to go down for the rest of her life. Just like every other student in school right now, she knew that no matter which career she would choose, it had to be one that will allow her to end up with a stable job that pays well because that is the mindset ingrained within society and school today.
That girl was me 2 years ago. I was beyond terrified of the future, of making the wrong decisions, and lacking self-confidence did not help this fear either. And then I attended Initiate 48.
Over the course of the 3 days at Initiate 48, my mindset changed. I had connected and formed a team with like-minded people of different personalities and what we were required to do together over those 48 hours changed me and my perception of the world.
I came out of Initiate 48 a much more confident person, about myself and my future. It opened my mind to the endless opportunities and possibilities out there in the world and gave me so much hope and motivation to pursue my passions.
I believe every student deserves the chance to believe — in themselves, their passions and their futures.
Please pledge to us and help us bring this experience to more students in Western Sydney!
