Earlier this year my friend, Eugenia, and I started a Business Society club at our school where 50 or so members come together to learn more about business and entrepreneurship. During this time of online transition, we have moved our workshop delivery on Zoom and uploaded learning material online so teams can continue to work on their startup ideas. The fact that young people continue to work on projects they are passionate about, despite the circumstances, really inspires me because it shows that we have all taken advantage of this time to pick up a new hobby or learn something new. Despite our common struggles, online learning is forcing many of us to become more proactive and independent.

As a Year 12 student, I am slightly worried about how I will progress through HSC as receiving face to face feedback is difficult online and discussion-based learning has been cut down significantly. However, we are all trying our best to adjust and I believe there are many advantages of online education. I have more time and therefore have learnt to manage that time effectively. I also found that it is important to continuously reach out to friends and family during this time to check up on each other. This year is not going to be easy, but there are ways we can work around the disadvantages to make the most of our time because although everything is limited, our potential is not.
